First Paragraph Contest
Thursday, October 15th, 2009Literary Agent Nathan Bransford just wrapped up a fun little contest. The idea of it was to get people to post the first paragraph of their work to be judged by him. Winners get small prizes, it seems more a pat yourself on the back kind of deal I suppose. It seemed fun though so I entered.
I thought I should share it with my readers as well. This is from my newest draft which hasn’t been updated on my books page (I should get on that). So I hope everyone enjoys. He announces the finalists tomorrow. Since it had over 2500 entries, I’m not exactly holding my breath. One can hope though!
Any of my readers enter it?
“I expect one of you to secure a place among the humans and help prepare for this vision’s time to come.” Lauryn turned in shock at her mother’s words. The Queen of the faeries stared out over the men and women deliberating all around her without any expression at all. Never in Lauryn’s lifetime had her mother called such a group together. Seated facing them on the dais, one hundred high lords and priestesses were now talking amongst themselves.
