Deposed is the story of good King Ralon who is abruptly stripped of his throne as the tale begins. Unable to give up, he must find the will to not only stay alive, but win his throne back as well. As a bit of a reminder, the deposed King Ralon has found an unlikely ally in the form of a retired spymaster. With renewed resolve he is determined to see Sildon stripped of the throne. In this part, Sildon must discover what allies might be on his side.

Part 4 of Deposed continues the meeting between King Ralon and Marcus Thaine. Marcus must decide if he will assist Ralon, and Ralon must figure out just how far he can trust the old man. Loyal or not, the man was once a mercenary and prices must be considered. Once again, my apologies about the silence last week. All is more at well with the world this week.

This is perhaps one of my favorite parts so far. The third part of Deposed is from a new perspective, and the character is what was so much fun to write. Marcus Thaine is a man who was quite powerful in his own right, back in his prime. Now he is retired from the life, so why did Ralon’s father tell him to visit the old man when he felt there was no where else to turn?

In the second part of Deposed, Ralon has been ordered to the dungeon by the usurper King Sildon. What will become of him and his family? He doesn’t have much time to figure it out.

I like what David has done with this story. When he read Sildon’s viewpoint it even felt like a different person than when he reads Ralon. I think Ralon comes across as proud where Sildon came across as sneaky. Take a listen and let me know if you agree.

I tend to like “what would you do?” scenarios. That concept is what inspired my latest Tuesday Night Story, Deposed. If you checked out part one, you know that Anald was overthrown by Sildon as King of the realm. What would you do in that situation? Surely a king has to plan in advance for situations like this. That is the overwhelming flaw of feudalism I imagine. You are constantly at risk of being invaded, poisoned, or executed by someone who wants your power.

In other writing news. My assassin novel is inching its way forward on the progress bar. It is up to 20% now. I’m really loving this story, but I haven’t had as much time to work on it as I would like. The Forest Awakens is also moving up slower than I wanted. I’m updating the edits as soon as I receive them, but Samantha has been rather wrapped up in her own work lately. Hopefully she’ll have some more time for it again soon. Some of you may have noticed the name has changed from Tuesday Night Storytime. We received a lot of feedback that suggested the previous name hinted that this was aimed primarily for children. This is not the case. Let me know what you think about the new name. Another new thing I’m going to try for this story is not posting the text to each part.
