Interesting Reading, Week 1

Saturday, September 12th, 2009

I spend a great deal of time learning. It’s just something that I have fun doing. Be it lessons of history, writing, programming, or anything else. Some people have asked why I added student to my header. It’s because I believe we are all students, no matter the age. You can never know too much, but you can definitely know too little.

So, in light of that, I thought I’d share some of the more interesting things I’ve found during the week. I thought my readers might enjoy them as well. It seems like something fun to do on Saturdays. I have three to mention today.

Pimp My Novel

This blogger, Eric, works in sales at a major publisher. He posted a hilarious day-in-the-life post this week. If you think you have a hard job, take a look and you might breathe a little easier. His blog is one of my favorites, and it’s up for a blogger award right now. Go take a look, you’ll be impressed.

On Literary Intent

This blog belongs to author K. A. Stewart. She has a book coming out in July next year. I believe it is her first. Stewart put together a 5-part article series about writing a good series. It is cleverly titled, Series on Series. I think it’s worth reading if you are into fantasy. There is lots you can learn even if you don’t. You’ll see a lot of these themes in books you’ve read, and it may help you out if you are writing your own series.

A Novel History

I just found this blog the other day. It looks new, but looking at the content she has now, it seems like a fun one to follow if you like history. Anyone who thinks history is boring needs to start learning from people who love it. They’ll show you how much fun it can be to learn. So everyone go take a lesson on the Roman’s. It’s a fun one.

Oh, and don’t mind the random strange post last night. I think that’s a very strange way for a website to make you claim your blog, but it is what it told me to do. If anyone is on Technorati, my blog is now listed on there.
