Missing Robert

Well I missed my Tuesday Night Story post this week. It was not on purpose of course, Samantha and I went out of town and I simply forgot about the new story. In some ways it isn’t a bad thing I think, because I still haven’t thought of a new story idea! Or rather, I have thought of too many story ideas and have been unable to narrow it down. So I thought I would try for some input from my readers to decide what story will start next Tuesday!

1. A story of a mercenary for the Gods.
2. An old retired hero returns home and brings danger at his heels.
3. A student of magic is faced with the death of his home and his people.

What would you guys like to see? Leave your answer in a comment, and we’ll see what wins! Until then, I’ll be back in a few days to continue regular posts!

I think #2 has the best potential for interesting conflict, both visible and personal: honor and patriotism, an aging warrior and his physical/mental wounds of battle, the memory of fallen allies, old foes that won’t give up in the face of defeat.

You could possibly incorporate aspects of #3 into it as well: the hero returns, an unseen danger following, and the student of magic who lives there that sees the danger that has followed the hero home.

It offers tho possibility for multiple opponents: between the oblivious hero and the student; either/each of them vs. “the danger”; maybe the townspeople vs. the student and/or hero; all of them joining forces against the danger; maybe someone close to the protagonist allying with the enemy.

And just to bring it all together, maybe that danger is the mercenary from idea #1. :)

I vote for #3, I’d like to see what sort of a magic system you incorporate.

always good to take a break from time to time, i find… and its summer.
I vote for #2 as well… it sounds so suspenseful!
