To Health (or close anyway)
Saturday, April 11th, 2009Well, there are few things more annoying than getting sick. I think everyone can pretty much agree on that one. While I love the fact that my sister moved to the city this year, she brought three beautiful kids with her, kids are quite prone to sickness. On the plus side, hopefully they’ll boost my immune system and make it a little easier my first year of teaching. I’ve heard nothing but story after story of the horrors of first-year teachers and sickness. So who knows, maybe I can avoid that.
During my sickness I finished reading another book. It usually takes me awhile to get through a HARRY POTTER book. I love the world and the characters, but for some reason I always found them slow at parts and would stop reading them for a couple weeks between those parts. Book six though, THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE, certainly was different than the others. I think by this book J. K. Rowling really found her “voice” so to speak. The book jumped quickly from interesting scene to interesting scene. I didn’t get bored at any time. I finished the book in three days, granted I was lying on a couch with nothing else to do, but that is still saying something (I read half of it yesterday). I’m probably the last person to get around to reading this book, but all the same I won’t spoil the ending. Instead, I’ll just say…DARN THAT HALF BLOOD PRINCE!
